The beautiful home you and your fabulous crew built for us on Star Valley Ranch. Like many of your other clients who relocated to Wy from the East Coast and other parts of the country, we knew shortly after our initial meeting with you that we found just the right person to help us design & build our retirement home. We have hosted numerous family members and friends since the completion of our log home, all of whom were extremely impressed with what they saw. The workmanship and professionalism of your entire crew gave us complete confidence that under your supervision and leadership we would find exactly what we hoped for when we arrived at our our new home.

This testimonial would not be complete without a few words about Robert’s honesty and integrity. Most of the construction of our home took place while we were still living in Virginia but there was never a time when we could not obtain information and photos during every phase of construction because Robert eagerly kept us informed. In addition, he facilitated telephone conversations between us and his sub-contractors – electricians, plumbers, cabinet makers, as well as his then CPA to ensure we were all on the same page regarding our wishes. Robert was also very forthcoming with creative recommendations that enhanced the overall beauty of our home. It is rare that a builder will personally go into the forest in the middle of winter to chop down a tree, take it home and turn it into two beautiful mantles for our 37-foot fireplace. He also created from this same tree a unique and state-of-the-art log base for our vanity bathroom sink. This is just one example of Robert’s kindness toward his clients.

Robert Point Construction built my home in 2003-2004 after my wife and I retired. We had worked with an architect to design and build our retirement home and asked Mr. Point, along with several local builders, to bid to build our new home. Mr. Point met with my wife and me and the architect on several occasions to get familiar with the building drawings and to insure that he could build to our expectations.

Robert Point Construction was not the low bidder on our home. But after careful consideration of several other builders, we hired him as our builder because he was forthright he worked easily with our architect, he was concerned with delivering a quality product at a reasonable price, and he was willing to try newer home building technologies. We had designed our home be built using insulated concrete form (ICF) construction and utilizing a hydronic floor heating system. Mr. Point was the only local builder who would consider using these newer building construction technologies. Throughout the construction period, he worked with us to “get things right”, answered our questions, worked well with his subcontractors and the architect, and delivered what we believe was a quality home at a fair price.

Mr. Point asked us on several occasions to allow prospective customers to see our home to view his work; a request we were happy to accommodate. I’m delighted to say that not only was Robert Point our builder, but has continued to be our friend as well.

We worked together on projects in Kemmerer and Labarge, Wyoming in the 1980s where he quickly earned the respect of Architects, Owners and fellow workers for his abilities in the trades, dependable and honest work ethics, and his strong commitment for producing a quality product for our clients.

These qualities brought Robert to mind when our firm was chosen to build a Custom Home for Al and Fran Bersticker at Gros Ventre Butte in Jackson Hole. It was a 2 million dollar-plus project on a steep, rocky hillside. When offered the responsibilities, control and accountability to take the Superintendent position, there was no hesitation, he was excited and ready to start. He started the project in early spring of 1999. His calm, polite personality won over local residents and building committee, Robert always shows people due respect, everyone involved from the Architects to local Building Officials have a good relationship with him,

The progress of the work went along at a good pace, and despite the problems of the site and the lack of available labor, Robert’s extensive experience and relationships with subcontractors and suppliers brought the job’s completion in on time for the Berstickers to have Thanksgiving dinner with friends and family at their new home in November of 2000 The project was a total success and to this date there have been no callbacks or complaints from the clients.

After the Bersticker project, I asked Robert to come to Swan Valley Idaho to help finish a custom home we were building on the South Fork of the Snake River. He was given the task of doing all of the “tricky” jobs that require true skill. Once again his knowledge of methods, materials and tools produced a level of lasting quality that we are proud to give our clients. We finished the project in November of 2001. There is no doubt, Robert knows his business, he has been responsible for many beautiful Custom Homes over the years, he is a fine family man and a good friend. His talents are rare these days and we appreciate the work he has done for us.
